On an awful day, a ton of volunteers came to out complete the 30 tree planting project that all our wonderful donators help to provide. It was really important that the trees get planted but also supported by stakes as the later high winds would simply have blown them over. We even had our local MP, Patricia Ferguson and Ward Councillor, Eunis Yassemi, out and getting tired and dirty. But really wow thanks for getting the job done. Just a bit of advice to the volunteers: go and have a lie down with a steaming hot cuppa! 🤩🤩

Another brilliant volunteer day in beautiful weather; spot the magnolia tree on the RHS in full flower. Great turn out again although we need to bring down our average age from 70 to 30. So the Fossil Grove was tidied up, brambles cut back, paths cleared, wee bit of litter removed, little weeding done. Sowed wild flower seed in our Blaes area and hope for a great summer display. Finished off by a natter and coffee. But always more to do to help Parks keep our park beautiful. Next volunteer day is Wednesday 30th April 1.30-3.30 followed by lashings of hot coffee and maybe a cheeky wee ice cream. More youngsters please!! 😎  |
